It’s the kick off of spring to New York City’s never-ending winter wonderland. It’s the Oscars of the east coast. The flashes from the cameras mimic the shimmering of marquise-cut diamonds. It’s the most selective guestlist and anyone who’s anyone attends. Only the influential, the beautiful and the known are cordially invited . And the person who runs it, is one of fashion’s most influential woman to ever grace the earth, the Editor -in-Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour. This years’ theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” and heavenly it was. These are the 10 wig-snatching fashion moments that only happen at the Met Ball.
Well another year, another Met Ball. I hope next years theme pays homage to eco-friendly/reusable materials and textiles in fashion, because I really want to see Rihanna wear a dress made entirely of dirty hand towels. Let’s be honest, she’d pull it off because she’s basically a goddess, not really… but she’s up there.
