About
SAC Media is Mt. San Antonio College’s award-winning, independent student-run news publication. From breaking news and campus events to culture, sports, and in-depth features, we cover the stories that matter most to students, faculty, staff, and our surrounding communities.
All of our content is created and published by students, providing hands-on experience for the next generation of journalists. Our editors are committed to amplifying student voices and fostering open dialogue.
Corrections
SAC Media is committed to honest, accurate reporting. While we strive for accuracy in all work, we acknowledge that errors may occasionally occur. When mistakes are identified, we work to promptly correct them.
For stories with minor corrections (such as typographical or grammatical mistakes or errors that do not impact meaning or context), changes will be made without notice.
Significant or contextual corrections will be noted at the bottom of the article in italics to inform readers of the change.
To report corrections or request a clarification, email us at [email protected].
Story Removals
SAC Media does not remove published stories unless the content poses a legitimate threat to an individual’s safety.
In cases where a story is found to contain substantial inaccuracies or unreliable information, the story will be withdrawn and replaced with an editor’s note explaining the reason for its removal.
Anonymous Sources
To preserve honest, transparent, and reliable reporting, SAC Media limits the use of anonymous sources. We grant anonymity only in rare circumstances—such as when identifying a source could jeopardize their safety or expose them to credible risk of retaliation.
In certain cases, SAC Media may withhold or alter a person’s name to protect their safety or privacy.
Letters to the Editor
SAC Media welcomes Letters to the Editor from individuals outside of the SAC Media staff. Letters submitted for publication should be relevant to our audience and must not be obscene, libelous, incomprehensible, or offensive based on race, sex, religion, or other protected characteristics.
Letters that constitute creative writing (such as poetry or personal prose) or sponsored content (including press releases or advertorials) will not be considered for publication. The editorial staff reserves the right to determine what qualifies as a Letter to the Editor. Final publication decisions rest with the Editor in Chief.
Letters to the Editor should be emailed to [email protected] with the subject line “Letter to the Editor.” Submissions must include the writer’s full name, phone number, and connection to the college (e.g., student, employee, community member, or local official). Anonymous letters will not be published.
