Mt. SAC’s music department will be hosting the Mt. SAC String Orchestra Spring Concert on June 6 at the Feddersen Recital Hall and admission is free. Irene Shiao, an adjunct professor, is the music director and conductor for the string orchestra performing in this event.
The String Orchestra will be playing works by Mozart, Handel, Morricone, and John Williams. They will have guest musicians who will be performing the full orchestra music of “Jupiter from “The Planets” by Holst.
“We enjoyed playing the music and love to share them with our audience.
Everyone is welcome and strongly encourage to come and enjoy our wonderful music together,” Shiao said.
Shiao has her Bachelor of Music from Azusa Pacific University, and her Master of Music from California State University, Fullerton. She is also currently working on obtaining her Doctor of Musical Arts at Claremont Graduate University.
According to Shiao, the event will be approximately 45 minutes to an hour. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. No tickets are needed for this event, and the event is free admission.
