“Today is for employees and it’s to make them aware of services provided by insurance vendors or health related vendors whether it’s One Legacy which is a organ donation company and St. Joseph’s is here doing derma scans to check for skin cancer, along with Kaiser doing biometric screenings,” Kranz said.
Kranz encourages the Mt. SAC staff to take advantage of the services provided by the Wellness center such as taking the time to exercise in their training center.
Even students are able to engage in the use of the centers exercise facility by paying a small fee during registration for classes or in person at the Wellness Center. There are also numerous kinesiology courses offered at the Mt.SAC campus for students to partake in.
“I always recommend taking one exercise class per semester, you know sprinkle it into your demanding classes as a self care class for yourself or even add a new skill,” Kranz said.
She elaborates that students should build the habit of exercise into their schedule because it’s needed in their schedules for the rest of their life. So, they might as well build the habit while they are students.
