Often when thinking about SAC’s sports, football, baseball or men’s basketball teams come to mind for their dominating stats, but the women’s teams shouldn’t be overlooked.
Whether it’s softball, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, aquatic sports or others, the women have secured their status as owning their opponents on the court and field.
The women’s tennis team has an overall record of 15-2 and is on a seven game winning streak at the moment. The ladies have beat their last five opponents by an average of eight points.
Women’s volleyball finished their season with a record of 20-8. They had multiple win streaks and their most win streak of the season being six games in October 2024.
Assistant women’s wrestling coach Robert Dominguez making a game plan with one of his wrestlers.
Women’s basketball did their part in continuing to put female sports on the map by not only going 29-4 for the season, but also capturing a championship in the process with a 14 game win streak at the end to match.
“I think women’s basketball and women’s sports is definitely catching up to the men,” said long time women’s basketball head coach Brian Crichlo. “Universally we’re starting to be recognized in all phases.”
While basketball was winning their ninth title, womens golf was also working on something special. Winning a state championship in 2024.
Going back to womens tennis, they are not only 15-2 but they have also advanced to the second round of the SoCal Regional Championships on April 15.
All SAC women’s sports share a total of 50 championships with basketball having nine, cross country 12, golf six, soccer two, track and field 14, softball six, and tennis with one of their own.

“If we play the fundamental game, we’re probably the best team in California,” assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Anthony Gonzalez said when talking about SAC softball. ”It just goes to show with us being able to compete all the time in the state championship. We’re making a statement. We’re making noise. You know, we’re out here.”
Championships or not under their belts, female student athletes are getting the high praise they deserve for the hard work they are putting into their crafts.
Women’s softball, swimming and diving, track and field, tennis, and beach volleyball are all in season with the common goal of bringing back another title to SAC.
