It was a breezy and gloomy Thursday when both Pasadena Lancers softball and baseball teams showed up in Walnut to square off with SAC.
SAC softball defeated the Lancers within six innings with a score of 10-2. After softball finished their job at 2 p.m., it was time for baseball to do their thing and finish the story.
The Lancers and SAC baseball went blow for blow in the beginning of the game. SAC scored one run in the first inning, but the Lancers came right back with a scoring run of their own in the second inning then, SAC came back with another scoring run again in the third making the score 2-1 to SAC by time the top of the fourth came.

Once the top of the fourth started, the Lancers couldn’t seem to keep up with SAC anymore as going scoreless since the beginning of the third inning. Meanwhile, SAC was all gas and no brakes as they continued to score three more runs at the bottom of the fourth, making the score 5-1.
The Lancers didn’t want to give into the might of SAC just yet. They went on to score another run at the top of the fifth, but that didn’t matter to SAC.
SAC scored the most runs out of both teams that day with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. The contributors to that big inning were redshirt sophomore catcher Cole Nachreiner (23), sophomore infielder Ty Thomas (19), sophomore outfielder Bryan Bradshaw (24), and redshirt freshman third baseman and outfielder Jackson Giacone (9).

Not only did softball go on to beat the Lancers, but so did baseball with a final score of 11-4.
SAC also beat the Lancers again April 19, 16-4. Extending their current win streak to seven.
“You just gotta play one game at a time, one pitch at a time, and just be where your feet are,” head coach John Knott said. “Our guys have done a good job of staying consistent, working for one another, being competitive, and we’ve been fortunate to have some streaks.”
SAC softball is currently on a 3 game winning streak with their next game being April 23 against the Bakersfield Knights.
With SAC baseball also winning two out of their last three series in the month of April, they look to continue to keep their foot on the gas in their next series against the Long Beach Vikings.
SAC has already won the first game in the series against the Vikings 18-1 on April 22. Their next game against the Vikings will be April 24.
