Students gathered to watch and cheer as contestants introduced themselves and showed just how much they “love women”.
Fashion design major, Ashley Risley, created this competition for students after watching many Tik Tok’s of people partaking in the fun satirical event. What started off as a joke, these viral videos convinced her to move forward and create the showdown. She would like to host more events like this in the future as it could be great ways to build community and enjoy themselves.

Eight contestants competed but only two walked away winners. The first place prize was a special Labubu named Hope from the ‘Big Into Energy’ line while the second place winner won a regular Labubu from ‘The Monsters Exciting Macaron’ collection.

The first place winner Nat Ramirez is a journalism and radio podcast major. He admitted that he was caught off guard by the win and was totally unexpected because he didn’t expect the victory. Ramirez stated, “I love this kind of thing, like a place with a lowkey small kinda get together.” He said similar events like these create a relaxed environment in which students can meet new people and build connections.

Second place went to biology major, Ashton Han, who said it felt good to finish second while he credited his friends for their support. Han called his friends his “team” thanking them for helping him get dressed for the event. Despite his own success, he humbly expressed that his comrade who competed along with him should have won. “I think my friend seven he should’ve won it. He’s like the most performative guy I know but you know he gave me all of his looks today”, Han stated. He also mentioned that he hopes that there’s more events similar to these because they are inclusive and he enjoyed how people can have a good time while enjoying themselves.

The event was enjoyed by many and even the competitors because they were able to get together and show their support for women. Joseph Rael shows his gratitude towards women by bringing a petition for students to sign to “end periods”.
Another one of the competitors, MJ Marquez also shows his appreciation for women and said he believes we should burn all performative men and that there’s not enough “yearners” out there.
