A man was found shot in the head in a pickup truck on Monday, June 25, in the 1000 block of Long Beach Boulevard in Lynwood.

His body was found following a shooting at around 2 a.m. and call to 911 of gunshots in the area.

He was found by a deputy on patrol, who saw the truck parked on Long Beach Boulevard with the engine running. The man was declared dead at the scene inside the vehicle.

The motive behind the shooting is unclear, with investigators searching for security video to find out if the shooting was from another car, whether the victim was targeted, or if the incident was gang related.

The unit handling this investigation is the LASD Homicide Bureau with Lieutenant Moore.
