Mt. SAC Associated Students presented California Winterfest on Thursday, Nov. 30 at Kerr’s corner to kick off the holiday season.
The event included festivities such as ornament and winter/holiday T-shirt decorating. Cookies and beverages were also served. The main attraction was the mound of snow for attendants to play and sled in.
Before entering the snowy area, participants were required to sign a waiver and receive a wristbanEhd. After admission was granted, they were free to have snowball fights, make snowmen and sled down the hill.
Those away from the snow mound and under the tents were hard at work, decorating their shirts and ornaments. Tinkering away like the North Pole elves, they donned their items with color and ribbon.
“This is awesome. I feel like it’s a good way to bring the community together and have fun,” Makayla Cotterman, 18, art major, said.
