Mt. SAC students have been busy preparing for their upcoming production of “Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric play” which opens in the Sophia B. Clarke Theater on April 16 at 7:30 p.m. and runs through April 19.
The production is set in a post-apocalyptic world where individuals have to learn how to begin their lives again and connect with one another.
“I think the unique thing about this show is that it kind of tackles a fundamental idea about why we do theater,” said show director and Mt. SAC professor, Dr. Adam Critchlow. “And that is how story serves to create relationships and how we use story to communicate and connect with each other, and then how that evolves over time to become our mythos, those cultural touchstones that we all share that then connect us together.”
With the intermission included, the production’s run-time is approximately 2 hours. For Mt. SAC students, tickets are $6 and those interested in purchasing can do so by visiting the online box office.
