“A person who thinks all the time has nothing to think about except thoughts. So he loses touch with reality, and lives in a world of illusion.” said British-American philosopher and speaker Alan Watts. But really, that means nothing in the face of my opinions, as thought-provoking and life-changing they are.
Peelable candies are utterly useless.
Seriously, when did these come into existence? Actually that doesn’t matter, because they suck in every aspect. Their gimmick ruins the candy’s taste, they’re more expensive than normal TASTY gummies and I really don’t want to have to take extra seconds to peel a candy when I could just stuff ten gummy worms into my mouth instead.
The “bunny ear” method is only for little kids.
If you are above the age of eleven you have zero reason to be still using this method to tie your shoes. It doesn’t even tie your shoes together tight enough. Every time someone does it they have to double and triple knot it to avoid tripping. You’re grown, tie your shoes like you are.
Glasses over contact lenses.
In terms of fashion statements and practicality, eyeglasses win over plain ol’ contact lenses any day of the week. Being embarrassed over wearing glasses in the big 2026 is honestly embarrassing by itself, but there are so many different sizes and shapes of glasses that it’s impossible you cannot find one you like. Plus everyone assumes you are super smart and Einstein’s spiritual disciple when you wear them.
If you cannot style curly hair, you are not a true hairstylist.
Now I completely understand having a specialty or even having a preference, but straight up not being able to deal with anything curlier than a piece of macaroni should not be tolerated. Finding specialists in curly hair is already a struggle, and the rising prices on hair care products certainly doesn’t help. After all, straight hair isn’t the only hair type, contrary to popular belief. Be more inclusive.
“Turning Red” should have gotten bigger than “KPop Demon Hunters.”
Funnily enough, this might be my most controversial opinion in this list. But I truly believe that “Turning Red” is not only underrated, but has a far more meaningful and memorable story behind it compared to what “KPop Demon Hunters” offers. It puts a larger emphasis on the aspects of how hiding your true self can negatively impact your self esteem and I personally believe it has a better ending fight. The tall kaiju red panda mom solo’s the Saja Boys any day of the week.
Everyone can draw. YOU just don’t know how to draw well. So don’t use it as an excuse.
I am personally sick and tired of hearing people say that they don’t know how to draw. If you can make a stickman on a piece of paper, you can draw. It’s defeatist mindsets like that that lead into relying on soulless AI to manufacture art rather than practicing to get better. Or paying artists. Artists like me, by the way. Ahem.
If you only care about Snoopy you are not a real Peanuts fan, sorry.
Now this isn’t me hating on Snoopy, never that. But if you seriously have a Snoopy profile picture I expect you to know at least enough about Peanuts to have a conversation longer than a minute. But that is almost never the case. I want to talk about the kids and their friendships but no one seems to care about them. Charlie Brown is literally his owner. Put some respect on his name.
The end does not justify the means.
If this is your genuine mindset when it comes to reaching goals you should probably seek some form of therapy. There are so many good and trustworthy means to go through, and yet you forsake them all to reach an end you may not even like. Also it’s entirely subjective, to what end are those means acceptable? Where is the line being drawn?
If your teacher or professor complains, maybe you’re the problem, not them.
I don’t care, I am always going to take an instructor’s side when it comes to an objective look at why someone is passing and why another person isn’t. You can’t complain about bad grades and a bad teacher when you aren’t ever paying attention in class. What sense does that make? It’s your responsibility to care, no self-respecting teacher is going to hold your hand and constantly ask why you didn’t do the work.
Blackwashing really shouldn’t offend as many people as it does.
Increasing diversity and giving roles to black people where they may traditionally be seen as white or nonblack should be praised as a good thing. Doesn’t watching the same ten actors get the same ten roles get boring? Being an elitist about what skin color a superhero should be completely detracts from the reason why it happens in the first place. There are so many actual problems compared to it.
Thank you, thank you. I know it’s hard to read through the tears, but I personally appreciate you for trying.
