Mt. SAC’s animation and gaming department presented “Gamefest” on Tuesday, Dec. 5th on the third floor of the student center to celebrate students of the commercial entertainment arts programs.
The room was lit in a purple hue as music blasted through the speakers. Attendants could play virtual reality games, computer games and board games. Also present were professors speaking with interested students about their arts programs, from graphic design to journalism. Plenty of students were showcasing their work in animation, writing, art and gaming.
The event gave a big party vibe. With the pizza flowing in, the music playing and the games never-ending, “Gamefest” did what it intended to, celebrate the end of the semester and acknowledge students’ hard work.
“I want students to … work really hard during the semester and come here and spend a few hours completely relaxing with fun games, fun animations, some pizza, conversations, music and just get to know all these other creative things going on within Mt. SAC… ” animation and gaming professor, Sunil Thankamushy said.
