Apple has a new line of products rolling out, here’s what you need to know about their new flagship phones

Less than a month after their last event, Apple held another one on Oct. 13. This time they announced the iPhone 12, MagSafe, and HomePod mini. The new iPhones are infused with some new technologies. MagSafe enriched the existing magnetic system within the iPhone. HomePod mini is a lighter version of the HomePod that will cost $99 and comes in two colors, white and space grey.
Here are 12 little things that might help determine if this is the time for a cellphone upgrade.

1. However you see fit

From compact to widescreen, iPhone 12 mini has a 5.4” display, followed by iPhone 12 and Pro’s 6.1” screen, then the Pro Max comes with a 6.7” display.

2. Are you “(RED)y?”

The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 will come in five colors: white, black, red, blue and green. Red is not a new color, but it means something different this time. Since the release of the red iPod Nano in 2006, Apple has partnered with (RED), a nonprofit organization that works with brands to raise funds to donate towards ending HIV/AIDS . Profits made by the (RED) products go to the Global Fund that supports HIV and AIDS programs in Africa.
Through December 31, “100% of the eligible proceeds” from (RED) products will go to Global Fund’s COVID-19 Response.
The Pro and Pro Max are offered in graphite, silver, gold, and pacific blue.

3. Size matters

The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 will have three capacity options: 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone Pro Max will come in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.

4. Introducing 5G

All iPhone 12s will be eligible for 5G networking, making downloading and uploading quicker than ever.

6. Who needs a Canon or Nikon when you have an iPhone?

The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 runs a dual-camera system with an ultra-wide and a wide camera. The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max have three cameras, which are ultrawide, wide and telephoto.

7. Being tough

Ceramic Shield is the new material being used for the screen, which is tougher than other smartphone surfaces.

8. Hey, good looking!

All iPhone 12 Users will be able to record and edit with Dolby Vision.

9. More fun gadgets

Besides improving wireless charging, MagSafe is also enhancing magnetic accessories, such as snaps on cases and wallets.

10. Less is More

Apple plans on achieving net-zero climate impact by 2030. To get there, they are changing their packaging, limiting to only the phone, USB-C to Lightning charging cable, and documentation.

11. Show me the money

The iPhone 12 mini, 64GB will cost $699, the 128GB will cost $749 and the 256GB will cost $849.
The iPhone 12, 64GB will cost $799, the 128GB will cost $849, and the 256GB will cost $949.
The iPhone 12 Pro, 128GB will cost $999, the 256Gb will cost $1099 and the 512GB will cost $1299.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max, 128GB will cost $1099, the 256GB will cost $1199 and the 512GB will cost $1399.

12. So when, exactly are they coming?

iPhone 12 and Pro pre order starts 5 a.m. PST. on Oct. 16 and they will be available on Oct. 23.
iPhone 12 mini and Pro Max pre order starts 5 a.m. PST. on Nov. 6 and they will be available on Nov. 13.
